This Privacy Policy for Chatter Software Development Inc. ("Chatter", "we", "us", or "our") outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information through: (i) chatter.dev and its subdomains; (ii) Chatter’s online platform; (iii) Chatter’s community; (iv) Chatter’s “Software,” meaning, collectively, our desktop applications, application extensions, notification service, and application programming interfaces (“APIs”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This Privacy Policy outlines our practices in alignment with these regulations.

We collect information when you: Create an account Input or upload information through the Service Contact us for support Engage with our online community Participate in research surveys Participate in our referral program Machine information is also collected on an ongoing basis via use of our: Chatterbox hardware device Chatter Desktop Connector software Below is additional information about what we collect, depending on how you interact with the Service. a. Machine Data “Machine Data” includes all data provided by your CNC machines and collected via our service’s interactions with your CNC machines. b. Third-Party Integrations Certain aspects of Chatter allow you to integrate third-party products and services to enable certain features. For example, you can connect your Autodesk account to import CAD/CAM data into Chatter. If you choose to use these features, you will be asked to authorize Chatter to access that data. We will collect information, such as your username or user ID for that service, and any information required to enable use of the feature.

3. Use of Information
Collected information is used solely within the scope of providing the Service. Machine Data is siloed solely to your organization scope, is not shared with third parties, and is not used for any purposes outside of your specific organization’s scope. Personal Information and usage data is used to help improve the Service and send periodic reports and recommendations.

4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not share your personal or organizational information with third parties for their independent use, except as required by law. Chatter does not engage in the sale of personal or organizational information. In the course of providing our Service, we may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in various operational aspects, such as payment processing and customer support ticketing. These providers are given access to the information only as necessary to perform their specific tasks and are obligated to protect and use your information solely for the purpose of the services they provide to us. We uphold strict confidentiality agreements and data processing terms with these third-party providers to ensure your data is protected in accordance with our privacy commitments and applicable laws.

5. Data Security
We are committed to protecting the security of your data. Our security measures include, but are not limited to: Encryption: Implementing SSL encryption to secure data transmissions. Access Controls: Strictly limiting access to your data on a need-to-know basis. Incident Response: Maintaining a formal procedure for handling security breaches that includes notifying customers and taking appropriate remedial action. Employee Training: Regularly training employees on data security and privacy protocols. Our data security measures are designed to protect your personal information in compliance with the CCPA and other relevant data protection laws.

These include the right to request access to their personal information and the right to request deletion of their information. Additionally, though Chatter does not engage in the sale of personal or organizational information, you maintain the right to opt out of the sale of personal information under the CCPA.

For international customers, data will be transferred to our servers in the United States, with appropriate safeguards in place.

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our information practices. This Privacy Policy is reviewed and updated annually, consistent with the requirements of the CCPA. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the policy on our website.
